Attorney General's bill targets worst offenders

Since 2007 we have been honored to serve on Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna’s Domestic Violence Advisory Group. This diverse group of prosecutors, law enforcement members, shelter, community and court advocates, survivors, treatment providers and many others are working together to make Washington a safer and more just state for victims of domestic violence and their children.

The sanctions subcommittee on which we serve has made recommendations to lawmakers that if passed into law will hold repeat offenders more accountable by increasing jail times for multiple repeat offenses. The benefit for their victims is to give these survivors a time to get safe, receive support and reclaim the lives for their children and themselves.
